Here's an article from Newsweek on the Life Straw - an inexpensive portable filter for cleaning unsafe water literally while you drink. What I love about this is how it reflects a different way of looking at the problem of delivering clean water. It's to expensive to clean up a lakeful of water - but its not so hard to clean up a mouthful.
